Why are you NOT the usual search engine?
This is our motto. We have broken away so much from the Norm that we no longer resemble every other search engine out on the web. We have gone back to the olden days, of the net, when keywords were what mattered. How we deliver the search results is another step in that evolution. Completely dynamic search results always changing by our database fluctuations.

How do you expect to compete with the big search engines like Google and Yahoo?
This one has no easy answer. Even though we believe in 0pn's technology so much we know competing against the big boys with our small budget will be nearly impossible. Woohoo sounds like fun - I love a challenge.

How does your search algorithm work?
This may be a touch difficult to explain. Since there are many facets to the actual search first we look through the user submitted search term then compare to phrases entered by webmasters. Then we move onto individual words. keeping in mind the entire time that each of those words and phrases can be worth more in WEIGHT because the webmaster entered it as their most important word. Now if your not thour0ghly confused then you will see that it webmasters actually get to decide how their website ranks by careful keyword choices.

Can anyone gain a listing advantage?
Everyone starts out equal. By taking extra time and thought when entering your website your extra care and reading of the tips will gain you an advantage. No one, including 0pn staff, will not be able to gain an advantage.

Do I need to use boolean operators?
No and in fact we will just strip out any plus sign, minus signs quotes and single quotes. We use a new technology called autobool to try anticipate all your needs.

What is autobool™?
Autobool™ is a new technology created for 0pn.com. It takes every word the user types in and automatically includes it into the search. This allows for better results for users who do not get the concept of boolean operators. Don't feel bad if you don't very few people on the net do get it.

What is the 0pn Skeleton Crawler?
The new 0pn Skeleton Crawler was designed initially to do a general sweep of online urls and get the basics. That is why it is named the SKELETON crawler. Since the skeleton crawlers first release it has grown into a formadable crawler that works with 0pn's exclusive technologies. The crawler has a heck of a long way to go to crawl the entire internet but it is working daily to get that done.

Listing you website does not cost. It is FREE.

Will you ever charge for listing?
As long as the current owner retains ownership of 0pn.com there will never be a charge to be listed in the general listing area. However to purchase advertising space (banner ads) may require a small fee.

Do my choice of keywords have to be relevant to my site?
YES YES YES. Relevancy is very important. The results require that webmasters be honest people and only put in the good relevant keywords. However from experience we know that not all webmasters will do this look below in the FAQ for info on our NARK program which is our way of getting around the dishonest webmasters.

I've decided to change my keywords how do I do it?
Delete all the words, that you want to change, by checking the check box after the word. Submit the page. Go back to the word entry page and there will be empty boxes to enter the new words. Remember to protect the integrity of the database you must delete before entering new data. We apologize for the extra step but the Searcher is our most important guest and the results they receive must look polished.

I'm only interested in one keyword, my entire website revolves around it. Can I enter just the one keyword in all boxes?
Yes, as long as it is relevant. Entering a very important word/phrase, to you, more than once will produce better results for the webmaster as well as the guest(searcher). This also makes that word weigh more in the results often moving you up the search results list. NARK (see misc section of FAQ) program also has an option to report misuse of this so if it is not relevant don't do it.

What is the nark program?
This is a program designed specially for 0pn.com.
N.A.R.K. stands for Never Allow Ripped Keywords.
Many webmasters will try and gain an advantage over other webmasters by trying to find exploits, This is a very unfair practice and can be seen like crazy on other search engines today. Since 0pn has a very small staff we are unable to check changes to every single website. So other webmasters need to keep an Eye on their own keywords. They will be able to see if any other webmaster is attempting to gain an unfair advantage by using doorway pages/ non relevant words or has found some 0pn exploit they could take advantage of. Each listing has a small nark after it you can directly on the NARK link to make a report at which time it will be emailed to the 0pn staff and it will be looked at within 1-72 hours. Action will be taken.

Who/what company owns 0pn.com?
0pn.com is a sole proprietorship. It is owned by the individual Robert Melluish. No public traded company/corporation owns any interest in 0pn.com.

Where is 0pn.com registered?
0pn.com is the Assumed Business Name registered to the State of Oregon. In all counties. Taxes for income, if we ever make any, will be paid to both federal and the state of Oregon. For more questions about 0pn's business registration you can view our online registration here.
